While speaking with clients who have successfully achieved their results, I have realized that one thing they all had in common is ‘Focus’.
Being focused means you have a clear goal & vision and your entire efforts are dedicated to achieving those goals. When you are focused, every decision you take relies on how that decision will impact your goal.
As an example, let’s say your goal is to lose 5kgs over the next three months and if you are absolutely focused on this goal, every time you fill your plate you will think what an ideal plate should look like, you will think twice before picking that extra piece of bread or digging in to that piece of chocolate cake, this will be instinctive and the reason is, because you are focused on your goal. This is also known as mindfulness.
People who lack focus often tend to find excuses and reasons to avoid tasks that challenge their comfort zone.
Losing weight is challenging for most and it is difficult for some to remain focused for an extended length of time for a number of reasons including self-control and thus it is important to make goals that are S.M.A.R.T (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Timely)
With a buffet of distractions and multiple challenges, it is difficult to remain focused all the time and it is during these times when a clear goal and a definite ‘Why’ will drive and motivate you.
