Why am I overweight?
Being overweight is caused due to varied reasons like specific medical conditions, erratic eating patterns, hormonal imbalances or family history. It is of prime importance that you identify, understand and address the cause. If you are overweight or have gained weight unexpectedly, it is necessary that you consult your health professional to identify the right cause before taking a step forward to avoid any harm to your own body system.
Once the reason is identified, the key is to find the right solution. Going on a fad diet or embarking on a ‘diet’ based on your understanding or experience may cause more harm than benefit. Always seek professional advice before initiating any changes.

How do I Lose Weight?
It is essential that you lose weight the right way. Leading lifestyle changes that last a lifetime is the key to good health. An important aspect of achieving success with weight loss is motivation and personal drive. As a professional, I can provide options but it is up on the individual to lead the change.
Fad diets are quick fixes but the impact could wane down soon due to monotony or inconsistent outcomes in the long term. The most successful diet plans are scientifically designed and those which cause the least disruption to your eating habits. It has been my observation that success is achieved most when I include a variety of foods that my clients prefer, as this encourages them to enjoy and manage the plan longer which in turn helps them successfully accept the changes that becomes their way of life.

What is the right diet for me?
There is no ‘one size fits all’. Each individual is different and there is no universal solution that will answer the above question. As stated earlier, the best way to lose weight is to lead a positive change in your lifestyle. Small but definite changes help. A combination of healthy eating and regular exercise should be the way of life to achieve success.

Which diet will help me lose weight fast?
Being honest, there are no quick solutions. The reality is, it will be hard and will take its time but do not get discouraged. Take baby steps, make small changes since these are easier to incorporate in your lifestyle. Ask for professional help especially if you have a medical condition. Be realistic with your goals and set achievable targets.

Eat right and eat healthy, avoid depriving yourself, my client’s state that they have tried Fad diets and experienced the yo-yo effect with their weight. This happens when you choose the wrong way to gain a quick fix, you may lose it fast and before you realise its back to square one.

Eating right includes watching what you eat and how much you eat, keep an eye on your portion sizes.

Include physical activity in your lifestyle, just don’t watch, start playing sports, run, jog, walk or hit the gym, the bottom line is ‘Be Active’- ‘Keep moving’.
